About
The Computer Network Services (CNS) is an information technology department that offers electronic communication
to the academe and its community. The office manages four network servers hosting the MU Web sites (MUWeb, Forum, Sulat, etc),
email, domain name server (DNS), proxy and firewall systems.
The department houses the Misamis University's very own intranet - the MUNet. MUNet is link to GlobeQuest network
via 2Mbps leased line. GlobeQuest is a Wireline Data Group of Globe Telecom Manila that offers high-speed
data services over a nationwide broadband network.
The office is powered by Cisco router, Tellabs and US Robotics modems, Intel Xeon computer servers, and open source
softwares. They keep CNS connected to the internet, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
